This course has been developed to provide an overview and understanding of WHS responsibilities at each level of the workplace and a practical understanding of an organisation's overarching health and safety obligations and the specific duties belonging to each of the four classes of duty holders.

 

Managers and supervisors supervise workers to comply with any reasonably instruction and workplace policy and procedure established by the organisation relating to health and safety at the workplace, and to help senior management in their role to ensure that workers take "reasonable care" of their own safety while at work.  Although supervisors and managers are classified as "workers" in the WHS legislation, their specific supervisory tasks aligns with the successful operation of the established WHS management system.
