Completion of the unit CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry is required by anyone carrying out construction work in New South Wales.
The unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.

Learner Support: To support and to ensure learner success in undertaking this course, a language learning and numeracy questionnaire/form must be undertaken before acceptance.
Participant requirements:
The learner DOES NOT have to bring any resources other than their current identification documents e.g. driver’s license, passport, birth certificate, Medicare card etc. for evidence of identity check (EOI).
Assessment:
Written and practical assessment tasks consisting of multiple choice, short answer written questions and correct fitting of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Certificate:
Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will receive a Statement of Attainment for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry on the same day of successful completion.
Cancellation Policy:
We are unable to refund monies for students who do not turn up for classes or decide after booking that that they do not want to attend. Changes to class times are allowed, but not within 48 hours of the class commencing. No refunds.
