Mental Health First Aid

Courtenell delivers Mental Health First Aid as a practical, no-nonsense 2-day course designed for NSW workplaces.

This accredited program equips your team with straightforward skills to spot early signs of mental distress, de-escalate situations, and refer to professionals, cutting absenteeism and boosting productivity without therapy, counselling, or ideological content. MHFA training is ideal for construction, manufacturing, office, and trade teams. Accredited by MHFA Australia.

Brief History of MHFA.

Developed in Australia in 2000 by psychologists Betty Kitchener and Anthony Jorm, MHFA started as a response to gaps in public knowledge about mental health crises. It drew from physical first aid models like St John Ambulance, adapting them for non-experts. By 2003, it gained traction through university trials; today, over 2 million Australians have completed it, mainly via workplace programs.
