Courtenell’s Mental Health and Psychosocial Risk Management course is designed to equip business leaders, managers, and supervisors with practical knowledge and tools to effectively identify, manage, and respond to psychosocial hazards and risks in the workplace.
It may also help them to identify any weaknesses in their own management style, whether that be causing psychosocial incidents themselves, or failing to consciously police psychosocial incidents occurring among their staff.
The course also addresses the management perspective, including the right of management to tell and get people to do their jobs. Effective supervision and performance management, when carried out appropriately, do not of themselves constitute grounds for a psychosocial injury claim.
In addition, the course highlights that workers have obligations under the WHS Act to ensure their actions do not cause harm to themselves or others. This includes an expectation that workers do not engage in or support behaviours such as bullying or harassment, which can create or exacerbate psychosocial risks in the workplace.
Delivered in an engaging and practical format, the training supports organisations in strengthening leadership capability, improving workplace culture, and aligning psychosocial risk management practices with broader WHS systems and organisational objectives.
