Mental Health Essentials Introduction (90 mins)

AIMS
Mental health challenges affect one in five Australian adults each year, yet many people feel unsure how to recognise concerns or support someone in need. Mental health awareness builds confidence to identify early signs, reduce stigma, and guide people toward appropriate help. Developing this foundational knowledge is an important step in creating safer, more supportive workplaces and communities.

Courtenell’s 90-minute Mental Health Essentials - Introduction session has been designed to provide participants with accessible foundational knowledge about mental health. This introductory session establishes understanding of how mental health support has evolved, introduces basic recognition of early indicators of concern, and clarifies where to direct people for appropriate assistance. It serves as an ideal starting point for individuals and organisations beginning their mental health education journey.
