Stress can be caused by events such as:

Exposure to a traumatic event.
Exposure to workplace or occupational violence.
Work pressure.
Suicide or attempted suicide.
Other mental stress factors.
Work-related harassment and/or workplace bullying.
Other harassment (includes being a victim of sexual or racial harassment) by colleague/s.?

The short and long term effects of stress can be very distressing and harmful. Studies show that stress increases the risk of:

Exhaustion and withdrawal
Harmful social and health behaviours
Heart disease
Muscle and body structure disorders
