1. Encouraging News on Vitamin C and Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19)

You can find the following news and more, on the website of an international body of professional doctors, physicians and researchers who include orthomolecular medicine in their practice HERE. At least 2 of their members specifically went to China to help deal with the COVID-19 epidemic and they are achieving results. Orthomolecular medicine describes the practice of preventing and treating disease by providing the body with optimal amounts of substances which are natural to the body. The term was originated by two-time Nobel Prize winner, and molecular biologist, Linus Pauling.

The encouraging news includes:

  • In February 50 tons of vitamin C (yes 50 tons) were transported into Wuhan for use in treating COVID-19 patients.

  • Also, in February, three intravenous Vitamin C research trials were approved by Chinese authorities and are achieving results.

  • On the 3rd of March, the Shanghai Government officially recommended the use of Vitamin C for COVID-19.

  • An official statement from Xi’an Jiaotong University Second Hospital (2) reads:

“On the afternoon of February 20, 2020, another 4 patients with severe new coronaviral pneumonia recovered from the C10 West Ward of Tongji Hospital. In the past 8 patients have been discharged from hospital. . . [H]igh-dose vitamin C achieved good results in clinical applications. We believe that for patients with severe neonatal pneumonia and critically ill patients, vitamin C treatment should be initiated as soon as possible after admission. . .[E]arly application of large doses of vitamin C can have a strong antioxidant effect, reduce inflammatory responses, and improve endothelial function. . . Numerous studies have shown that the dose of vitamin C has a lot to do with the effect of treatment. . . [H]gh-dose vitamin C can not only improve antiviral levels, but more importantly, can prevent and treat acute lung injury (ALI) and acute respiratory distress (ARDS).

2. Australian Government COVID-19 Advice up dated 10 March 2020

Employers have an obligation to eliminate or minimise risks so far as is reasonably practicable and that includes health risks such as COVID-19 so following Australian government advice and applying it to your workplace situation is a good place to start.

3. The Lessons from Two Australian Tragedies
