Who can attend the WorkCover HSR Courses

 WorkCover is now permitting a greater range of attendees, than previously indicated, to receive training on the WorkCover HSR Refresher course. So we have set out below the current situation regarding who may attend and receive a certificate for the WorkCover HSR courses.

Who can attend the 5 Day WorkCover HSR Course?

> Anyone can attend the 5 Day WorkCover HSR Course and obtain a certificatefor it. However, only HSRs can exercise the power of issuing PINs* or directing that unsafe work cease.

Who can attend the 1 Day WorkCover HSR Refresher Course?

> HSRs who provide evidence* that they have completed the 5 day WorkCover HSR course or WorkCover 1 Day HSR Bridging Course will receive a WorkCover certificate.

>Managers, supervisors and others who would like to gain an understanding  >of the mandatory consultation process and the role, powers and limitations of HSRs can also attend. They will receive a Statement of Attendance and do not have the powers of a HSR.
