The aim of this course is to impart the knowledge, skills and attitudes deemed necessary for giving competent care to the ill or injured until medical aid arrives.

Pre-Course arrangements

 

Once a client decides to go ahead with the Provide First Aid Course, they will then book the training date, venue and number of participants with the Courtenell consultant. > The client will be sent a PDF enrollment form that all participants need to complete prior to the course commencement. > this form has important information requirements including the Unique student Identifier (USI). The USI is required to obtain the certificate.


To create a USI please visit www.usi.gov.au > Finally, the trainer for the course will contact the client to discuss further arrangements and finer details.


This course covers the nationally recognised units of competency HLTAID003 Provide First Aid and HLTAID001 Provide CPR. Delivered in partnership with and under the auspices of Safety Corp Pty Ltd RTO 91694.

Pre-course Day Learning  2 Day Delivery


There is no pre-course learning or quiz in the two day delivery option.


 



 Assessment for 2 Day Delivery


The assessment requires that attendees demonstrate effective CPR on a manikin (a dummy), effective communication in a response situation, effective positioning of a casualty, effective bandaging, effective injury and illness management, effective auto Injector administration and effective reassurance for an injured person.


Attendees are also required to successfully complete a written theory assessment during day two.

(1 ½ to 2 days) Face to Face Training and assessment with 1 hr/day lunch breaks.

Pre-course Day learning 1 Day Delivery


It is important that prior to arriving at the face to face training, attendees log on to the given online links to complete the Pre-Learning First Aid Quiz Questions. This should take approximately 30-60 minutes to complete. However, if the Pre-learning cannot be completed by students online for some reason, then time can be allocated before the start of the course. However, this must be arranged with the trainer at least 24 hours PRIOR to the start of the course.

Pre-Course Learning- 60 minute (approx.) online module.

8hrs Face to Face training and assessment with 1 hour break..

On successful completion of this nationally recognised qualification, participants receive a Statement of Attainment in “HLTAID003 Provide First Aid” incorporating "HLTAID001 Provide CPR". This certificate is valid for three (3) years but the CPR component of the course is valid for 12 months and will need to be updated annually for you to keep your CPR component current.
